The Story of this Foundation begins late January 2024. Maggie had returned to Rochester, NY and was getting started in the second semester of her Freshman year at the University of Rochester.

On February 1, 2024 she would be admitted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. What started as a sinus infection would become bacterial meningitis. The effect of that would be swelling of and in her brain that would cause severe brain injury.

Maggie is still in treatment and recovery of the effects of that brain injury.

This Foundation was created in response to people asking how they could provide financial support on Maggie’s journey to recovery

How is Maggie doing?

Maggie is home! Maggie has reached the point from her second shunt where she is considered stable. Now we are working to get her ready for more targeted therapy!

You can read the full timeline on our About page.

We will have a full Journal from Nick and Lisa throughout this journey that will include the most current updates available soon…

What do you all need?

We have truly been blessed with your support and prayers. Please don’t stop praying!

In terms of practical needs, there are a few ways.

Lisa resigned from more than two decades as a teacher in order to stay home and be Maggie’s primary caregiver. We are still figuring out the full changes to income that will bring.

The main things right now are the therapies Maggie is receiving the need we have for a handicap converted van to use for Maggie’s travel to doctor’s appointments and therapies. If interested and able to assist with either of these, please see below.
