What a day…

Maggie began spasming this morning. It looked seizure like but we weren’t sure. A CT scan and EEG were ordered and done. The EEG confirmed seizure activity and the CT scan showed her brain midline had shifted.

Maggie was rushed to the OR where they drained 30CC of fluid off her brain. Her shunt had failed and will have to be replaced.

I feel like we’re back to February all over again- hearing “your daughter is very sick”, watching ICP numbers, and watching her sedated and intubated. I wasn’t prepared for it at all.

She is resting comfortably in the NeuroICU at UAB. We had only been at Spain 24 hours, but this is exactly where we need to be and God had us in the right place at the right time.

She’ll have another CT scan in the morning and we’ll know more about what the next steps are.

Pray for peace for us.
Pray for healing for Maggie.

We know the Lord is and will continue to be faithful to our family!
