Beginning of April update

It’s been pretty busy at the Jenkins house the past few weeks, so it’s been a while since we’ve done an update on Maggie’s progress. Here’s a few of the highlights!

  • Maggie had an appointment with doctor at Spain Rehab. From that meeting, Maggie will eventually get Botox in her hands and she’s in the waiting list for outpatient rehab at Spain. All good steps in the right direction.

  • Maggie has made several outings- staff meeting at OneEighty and the Lashley baby shower. Both were successful outings!

  • She is officially dismissed from home health. It was available to her to make sure we knew how to care for her. They are confident in our ability to do what we need to. We’ll miss Lauren and Madison though.

  • On Friday, Vanessa brought a music therapist with her. Maggie responded sooooo well! Hannah is amazing and we are looking forward to doing more cotreatments! She followed Hannah with her head as she moved around with the music. She also showed more engagement during the session and was able to move her arm on command more quickly in time to the music.

  • We have received Maggie’s wheelchair! It’s fantastic! She spends several hours every day in it- outside if the weather is nice and the pollen isn’t too thick.

Continue to pray for us for the right open doors, the wisdom to know when the right time to walk through them, and continued connections for Maggie!
