She got another kidney infection over the weekend. But it was caught quickly and she's back to "normal" today. She did her PT and her OT/music therapy.
Maggies team is talking to Urology- pushing for her kidney surgery to be sooner than Sept 3 since her infections seem to be mostly originating there.
Consciously, we haven't seen much difference in Maggie recently. But her body is getting stronger. They have been experimenting with assisted stands- not with a machine. She is able to hold her head and upper body upright with minimal help. She does full body stretches and moves her arms and legs to different positions. I have to remember when we were so excited when she twitched or wiggled her toes. She has come so far. But still has a long way to go.
Maggie has been accepted to a LTAC here in Birmingham. All the logistics are getting worked out- insurance, transportation, and that surgery. We thought it might have happened this week, but it looks like we're half New Yorkers for another week at least.
I'm working on a scrapbook of everything that has been sent to Maggie over the last 6-7 months. We have saved every scripture that was put on her wall, every card, every gift. I want her to see them and the names of people that have prayed for her and loved her. As I am putting it together, I am overwhelmed with the army of people behind her. Thank you!
Prayer requests:
- surgery at the right time for Maggie
- smooth transition to Alabama.
- all the details to be worked out
- Maggie to continue to make progress and become more conscious.
