9 months.
3 hospitals
9 rooms
It’s easy to count this journey with tangible numbers. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

We had imagined that we’d be a lot farther along 9 months in. And yet, we’ve been in the ICU at UAB for 11 days. And today we were waiting on the results of a MRI to determine how we should proceed. We feel like we’ve moved back to where we were in February.

Nick and I spent time talking with the neurosurgeon and waited on the MRI. The results showed that there is no reason to not proceed with a new shunt on Thursday and keep moving forward. What an answer to prayer.

We reflected on this hard 9 months (again). And talked about the pain and the periods of joy. God has met us in the hard and been with us. He has sent people who demonstrated His love in such tangible ways. We have countless stories of His faithfulness to us and Maggie and those around us.

Pray for Maggie!
-Healing for her brain, body.
- rest for her tonight and that her blood pressure will come down.
- a successful surgery on Thursday morning
