Tuesday morning:
Maggie continues to slowly improve.
Her PIC line was removed this morning and they put an IV in her foot. They are trying to rule out possible infection sites. She'll get a 48 break and then get a new PIC line.
They are weaning her off the vent. She was only out on it to help her rest while her body was fighting the infection. She'll be off it for 24 hours starting this morning and then they'll check to make sure she's good to do without it.
She's scheduled for surgery in September to get the kidney stones out. If they can fit her in before, they will. But at least she's on the schedule. She has stents in both kidneys so they are anticipating less drama with the stones.
She's had problems with "dumping urine" which impacts her sodium levels. So she's getting lots of extra fluid. She finally got enough to be on the positive side yesterday. They are adjusting the med (DDAVP) that helps control that.
That's all the stuff in a nutshell. Last week was an emotional week for us. She's still so fragile and something small can turn into something big so fast. We know it's a long road, but sometimes it looks longer that we can handle.
But... we know God is faithful and will continue to strength her and us as we continue.
Thank you for the prayers! And keep them coming!!
